Welcome to the Dofflemyer Hotel
in San Saba, Texas
The Dofflemyer Hotel is a boutique Hill Country inn located in the historic district of downtown San Saba. The building in which our San Saba hotel operates was originally built in 1913 by W.C. Dofflemyer for the San Saba National Bank. The building was finished in artificial stone, something quite new at the time. The second floor was leased by The San Saba Club, a gentlemen’s social club of the day. It was outfitted with pool and billiard tables, a player piano, plus a parlor and reading room.
The first floor of our Hill Country hotel accommodates the hotel lobby and Oliver and Co., a family-owned business that sells pecans, gourmet coffee, homemade candies, homemade ice cream, soups, and sandwiches. The rooms of our lodging in San Saba Texas are located on the second floor in the space previously used by the social club in bygone days. The hotel ambiance is a unique blend of past and present, historic and contemporary, comfort and utility. Each of the 5 rooms and 1 suite of our Texas Hill Country lodging are individually and uniquely decorated.
The Dofflemyer Hotel’s location at the crossroads of Highway 190 and Highway 16 in downtown San Saba provides visitors with a wide array of site seeing options. The City of San Saba is the self-proclaimed Pecan Capital of the World and as such, there are no shortages of pecan trees and pecan-related shops and businesses.
